In addition to our elite urban education® curriculum, we also provide the following: Nutritional Policies
We are not only committed to serving the highest quality of fruits and vegetables to the children each day, but also wish to provide meals that teach, by example, good nutrition to the children. All meals are organic and provided by Whole Foods. Each center serves one morning and two afternoon snacks, as well as breakfast and lunch to the children. Our meals are served family style to promote conversation and build self-help skills. Monthly menus are posted in each classroom. Meals are also in accordance with the nutritional guildlines set by the State of Illinois as well as the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Rest-time
Each classroom has a rest-time generally beginning at 12:30 PM. We have found that all children benefit from a quiet break in the day.
Specialized Environment
Each AKA Center is strategically placed within walking distance of a park, zoo, or major recreational landmark. This is in addition to the center's having a large indoor or outdoor playground. We believe that exploration is a key part of children's growth and will help lead them in developing to their fullest potential.
